Soul singer Sonny Knight will headline First Avenue on Saturday night and no one is more surprised by that than Knight.

“I had no clue I would be doing this,” the 66-year-old Mississippi native said. “I knew (when I retired) I wasn’t going to sit around and do nothing. That’s not me. I figured I’d still be performing, just not at this level. Now that it’s here, I’m really enjoying it.”
